Also known as: DreamSpring
DreamSpring is a nonprofit CDFI, or Community Development Financial Institution, based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It provides small business loans and microloans to entrepreneurs across a growing number of states in the western and southwestern United States, with a particular focus on serving underserved communities including women-owned businesses, minority-owned businesses and low-income entrepreneurs.
CDFIs are mission-driven financial organizations certified by the US Treasury. They exist to expand access to affordable capital for people and businesses that are often excluded from conventional bank financing. DreamSpring has been serving entrepreneurs in the Southwest since 1994 and has expanded its geographic reach over the years.
DreamSpring offers business loans of varying sizes, from small microloans to larger amounts for more established businesses. Loans can be used for working capital, equipment, inventory, real estate and a range of other business purposes. The organization also provides business coaching, advisory support and financial education as part of its broader mission.
DreamSpring is designed for entrepreneurs who may not qualify for a bank loan or who are at an early stage of building their business. It tends to take a more flexible and personalized approach to evaluating applications than a conventional lender.
DreamSpring operates across states including New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Texas, Nevada and others. Business owners in these states who are exploring financing options and have had difficulty with conventional lenders should consider reaching out to DreamSpring.
As a nonprofit lender, DreamSpring typically offers more favorable terms than for-profit alternative lenders and payday-style products, while being more accessible than a conventional bank for many entrepreneurs.
